This project was developed and designed while participating in the Interior Design program at the University of North Texas.
This project concentrated on Sustainable and Universal Design. It was done using SketchUP, SketchUp pro, and Twinmotion. The house is two stories with a detached garage and a room on top of the detached garage. I attached the garage and the room through a covered bridge.

The barn house was built using old farm barn wood. The owners of the barn are two middle aged couple that are art collectors and want to feature their collection in their house. The couple have one son and his wife with two grandchildren that visit regularly and they want enough space to accommodate these visitors. This house features one master bedroom with a walk-in closet and a bathroom, one guest bedroom with a bathroom, one bunk room, a dining room, a living room, a family room, a kitchen, a powder room, a mechanical room, a utility room, a broom room.

The Mid Century Modern house is defined by functionality, Minimal ornamentation, organic and geometric forms, and the use of traditional materials. Big inspiration was modern farm barns, universal designs and the designers of the mid century modern style like Herman Miller and Arne Jacobsen.

Professors and Classmates liked my project and the way I had to solve several given problems/ challenges while planning and designing it.
This project was a big help in better advancing my knowledge in Universal design where I had to design spaces, and sometimes products, for all kinds of people with different abilities.
Researching the style, the concept, the given problems, and understanding client’s needs and wants before planning are necessary to achieve the desired results.
